This paper was previously published in this journal’s issue. Its content touches upon issues of same-sex relationships, and thus addresses what could potentially be considered LGBTQ+-related matters. Subsequently, such activities were recognized as extremist throughout the territory of the Russian Federation by a decision of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation (Case No. AKPI23-990s) dated November 30, 2023 (entered into force on January 10, 2024).

Accordingly, the publication of texts addressing same-sex relationships—even in the most poetic or romanticized forms, or through the lens of media research—may be subject to legal prosecution under the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (https://www.consultant.ru/document/cons_doc_LAW_10699/4e1f3da66df78d5cc3eec719e2a32d7b333a5266/).

For this reason, the journal has removed this text from the published issue. However, this does not constitute a retraction due to any error or dishonesty on the part of the author, reviewers, or editors, nor does it involve violations of academic ethics. Rather, it is a response to changes in the state’s legal reality.

Thus, the paper continues to be listed as published, its metadata remains indexed in foreign databases, but the full text is no longer publicly available.

Sincerely,

The Editorial Board of The Art and Science of Television Journal
